Date: Tuesday, November 19th, 5–7pm
Location: Yeh Art Gallery, Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall, St. John’s University

Experience an empowering performance with exhibiting artist Damali Abrams, where visitors will gather to create their own herbal remedies and teas designed to soothe anxiety, stress, and anger. This event, aligned with the exhibition To Mend the Heat, comes at a critical time, offering participants a moment of relief during the pressures of finals, the close of the year, and the extreme polarization we face in the world today.

Damali Abrams is a New York City-based artist, educator, and practitioner of folk medicine. Born and raised in Queens, Abrams uses art as a healing modality and spiritual practice. Her interdisciplinary work draws from Black feminist thought, incorporating mixed media collage, handmade books, and community engagement. Her work has been exhibited at El Museo del Barrio, MoCADA, JCAL, The Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, and many other venues.
