Join Yeh Art Gallery Director Owen Duffy in an interactive webinar discussing art writing and criticism. A published art writer, Duffy shares tips on how to successfully pitch editors and how to get compensated for your writing. This program is organized by and in partnership with Mana Contemporary.

Duffy starts by explaining how he got started in writing about art, and will conclude with a conversation, inviting participants to consider the roles of the artist, art critic, and writer during uncertain times. We will also collectively brainstorm writing opportunities, and consider how to think and write about art from our current virtual reality.

Owen Duffy is the Director of the Yeh Art Gallery at St. John’s University. Duffy is a curator, active art historian, and writer. His work has been published in outlets including Artforum, ArtReview, BOMB, Frieze, and Momus. His essays have appeared in Summer Wheat: Blood, Sweat, and Tears; Public Art: Place, Context, Participation; and Silence No Longer: Artivism of Ashmina. He earned his PhD in art history from Virginia Commonwealth University.
